Apple Crisp Packets

I’m excited to partner with Reynolds Wrap® for this Apple Crisp Packets recipe.  It is the perfect dessert for fall and they’re on the healthy side!  Made with fresh sliced apples, a crispy oat crumble and wrapped in Reynolds Wrap® Heavy Duty Foil. Reynolds Wrap®Heavy Duty Foil is tough and durable, which is perfect for cooking heavier foods since you don’t have to worry about it ripping or tearing.  Reynolds Wrap® is proudly made in the U.S.A. in Louisville, KY and is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year!

Ingredients:

4 fresh apples, sliced

1/2 cup sugar alternative

1 tsp cinnamon

juice of 1/2 lemon

TOPPING:

1/2 cup all almond flour

1/2 cup old fashioned oats

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 cup coconut oil

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a large bowl toss the sliced apples with the lemon juice.

Combine the sugar alternative and cinnamon.  Add sugar mixture to sliced apples and toss until all the apples are evenly coated.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, salt and cinnamon.  Pour in the melted coconut oil and stir until well coated and crumbly.

Lay out 4-6 pieces of Reynolds Wrap® Heavy Duty Foil l approximately 16” long, one piece for each Apple Crisp packet.  Place the apple mixture in the center on each piece of foil.  Sprinkle the oat crumb mixture evenly over the top of the apples.  Now wrap each in the foil, like a present. Fold at the top leaving space for the heat to circulate.  You will tightly seal the ends by double folding. Repeat until all of the Apple Crisp packets are wrapped.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes until the apples are soft. Allow to cool slightly before carefully opening.  Serve with coconut cream or vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
